I bought a telescope after reading A Short history of nearly everything. When I bought, I knew I did not know anything about telescope but then I thought I can read up and start using it. It took a while to get delivered. Only after setting up I realized I have no idea what I was doing with the telescope and put it away for a couple of months. Then I picked it up after some inspiration and started watching YouTube tutorials, reading Turn left at Orion and many other blogs. Even then It was quite difficult. I did not even know the difference between 10mm and 25mm. Thanks to videos like this and r/telescopes, things started to get a bit better and finally I set up the telescope with 25mm lens and pointed it at the moon. After a few minutes of furious screwing/unscrewing of different knobs, I got a clear picture of moon and It was breathtaking.
